This week on DVD is probably one of the biggest releases of the year. Way back in 2007, a short teaser ran in theaters hyping The Dark Knight. Being that it didn’t show much, a viral marketing campaign began. With over 10 sites linked to the movie, people began to talk. As months rolled on, more trailers were shown. The images of Heath Ledger as The Joker simply stunned comic book fans. Even more shocking, in January, Ledger passed away in New York City. Mid July, the film was finally released. Almost every review praised the film, instantly allowing it to break box-office records. To this day, The Dark Knight has almost peaked $1 Billion dollars in sales. You ABSOLUTELY want to pick up this movie. Possibly one of the best comic book movies of all time.
Other releases this week are Horton Hears a Who. This film was actually not that bad. However, the water effects in it were more interesting than 50% of the dialogue.
Check out both these releases this week. With respect to The Dark Knight, we won’t be doing captioned images for its DVD release this week.
